Well, it's just around the corner again and some of you are hating it and some of you are loving it!  I have to admit, I have never been much of a Valentine's Day "celebrator" but I have started to get into it the last few years.  I am not much of a romantic either, however I like the idea that some day, maybe some day, it might hit me and I practise it more often.  My husband is very practical as well but has written me some very amusing and heartwarming poems in the few cards that I have received.  I truly believe that doing little things over the course of the year is far more relationship enhancing for me than trying to redeem yourself in one day.  If you are single, I can also see how this day and all the hype can make it a little bit like that of a knife stab.  Many of my single friends actually despise this day, others don't give a rats ass.  How ever you see this day I am choosing to make it a day to love myself and who I am as well as the people around me.  I feel that if I expand my love to include everyone then I have truly made it a day to celebrate.  Be kind, say nice words, do little favours you would normally not do and heck, go get some gummy hearts and hand them out to everyone!  There are so many different ways to express your love to others that you just can't buy.  A simple hand made card, a homemade dinner or a foot rub would go a long way with me.  However you choose to celebrate, have fun and don't fall into the pressure of it being a perfect day!
